Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, beat together melted butter, 1 cup granulated sugar and the cocoa powder.
Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat well.
Sift together baking powder and flour and mix the dry ingredients into the butter/sugar mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Cover dough with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Scoop balls of chilled cookie dough and form a ball with your hands.
Roll the formed dough ball in remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and then in powdered sugar.
Place balls onto a greased or parchment lined baking sheet, with 2-3 inches space between each and bake for 10 minutes.
