Ingredients
  

  • 6 tbsps melted butter 
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar (divided)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsps  baking powder
  • 3 /4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a medium mixing bowl, beat together melted butter, 1 cup granulated sugar and the cocoa powder.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat well.
  • Sift together baking powder and flour and mix the dry ingredients into the butter/sugar mixture.
  • Stir in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Cover dough with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Scoop balls of chilled cookie dough and form a ball with your hands.
  • Roll the formed dough ball in remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and then in powdered sugar.
  • Place balls onto a greased or parchment lined baking sheet, with 2-3 inches space between each and bake for 10 minutes.
