What do you do for Easter? I love this holiday! The kids will always remember the time we went out to a friends farm and an airplane flew over with an Easter Bunny throwing down candy everywhere. We had a BBQ afterwards and it was so much fun.

I have always made recipes that I remember as a child growing up. I love Easter Bunny Bread with chip dip and and vegies. Everyone gets excited about this recipe.

For this recipe you can use a regular cake mix to make this Bunny Easter Cake, but you could also make your favorite cake recipe as well. I have a favorite carrot cake recipe that would be delicious.

  • Yellow cake mix..or use a favorite recipe.
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil
  • Eggs
  • Coconut
  • Licorice, candy melts, and small Easter candy eggs.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pkg yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • licorice
  • candy melts
  • easter candy eggs
  • coconut

Instructions
 

  • Add cake mix, water, oil, and eggs to a large bowl and mix until combined. Pour into two 8-inch round cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  • Take one round cake and set it aside as the bunny’s face.With the second round cake, make two cuts to create two ear-shaped pieces and a bow-tie shaped piece. The remaining part from the second round will form the ears and the bow tie.
  •  Place the round cake in the center of a large platter or baking pan. Position the two ear pieces at the top and the bow-tie piece at the bottom of the round cake.
  • Frost the face and ears with white frosting. Smooth it out for a clean look. Use pink frosting to fill in the inner part of the ears and the bow tie. 
  • For the bunny's face, use licorice and candy melts to make eyes and whiskers.
  • Your bunny cake is now complete! It’s a simple yet adorable way to make an Easter dessert that will wow everyone at the table!
