Patriotic Punch For The 4th Of July

Patriotic Punch For The 4th Of July

What do you love most about The Fourth Of July? I love what it stands for. Freedom for our country. I also love when our family can actually be together and laugh and get caught up with one another.

My husband and son, and I just got back from a trip to Mount Rushmore. What fun that was. It is history on the mountain. It has been on my bucket list for a long time and finally fulfilled. I am proud to be and American and I hope our country can get back to the way it use to be!!

I am sure you are like us and do some kind of BBQ. It just would not be the Fourth of July without Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Baked Beans. Chips and Dips, and Yummy Desserts.

This recipe for Patriotic Punch will be perfect for all those backyard holiday barbecues or pool parties this summer!!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Red, white, and blue drinks like cranberry juice, Blue Garorade and some Sprite.
  • Get lots of ice cubes or find some star-shaped ones in store. (Walmart)
  • Drink garnishes are always fun like American Flags or Twizzlers, or decorations.
  • The secret to layered drinks is in the sugar content. The second secret to success with layered drinks is to use plenty of ice.

After you add your bottom layer, fill the glass to the top with ice, and pour the second layer slowly and directly on top of an ice cube.

Alternatively, you can pour the drinks over an upside-down spoon to slowly distribute the liquid and create even layers.

It is so cool as the layers separate and it tastes delicious. Scroll down for the recipe!
