Melt-In-Your-Mouth Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

When I first started cooking in middle school I was in charge of making Chocolate Crinkle Cookies for the week. We use to cook everything from scratch in schools back then. I used a HUGE mixing bowl to make lots of cookie dough for the week. All the kids looked forward to these cookies.

Historically these cookies can be traced all the way back to the first half of the 20th century.  A woman by the name of Helen Fredell of St. Paul, Minnesota is believed to have created the first actual crinkle cookie. The recipe was originally published in a Betty Crocker cookbook.
