Homemade Salisbury Steak
We love good old “home cookin” in our home. We love recipes from long ago that our grandma’s, aunts, and mom’s have made. You might also known this by a “poor man’s steak” which is a way for poor folk to enjoy “steak” back in the 19th century when money was very hard to come by.
If you have a picky eater in your family, not a problem they will scarf this right down. You do not need to buy that cube steak. All you need is hamburger and seasonings and WOW you have a dinner that never disappoints. We serve it with mashed potatoes and usually green beans or a salad.
Salisbury Steak gets its name from James Henry Salisbury who was a doctor during the Civil War in the late 1800s and served the original version to the soldiers.
